Berlin's social, political and cultural heterogeneity evokes a lot of creative energy. Because of that, and the possibility of living cheaply, the city is full of artists from all over the world. No doubt, Berlin is one of the hottest spots of the artworld.

Each autumn the international art world has a special occasion to look towards the German capital: It is the 10th time the Art Forum - Berlin's art fair - will take place in end of September and - as often - there will be a lot of alternative activities. Parts of the young Icelandic art scene will use this opportunity and will invade Berlin for a lot of presentations, concerts, performances and parties in various venues during the weeks from 24. September and 9. October.

In the center of BERLinvasion are the activities of KlinK & BanK, a multi-artistic studio space of 140 extraordinary artists. Klink & BanK hosted in recent years several guest projects e.g. Jason Rhoades & Paul McCarthy's “Sheep Plug” and lately the “Animatograph” of Christoph Schlingensief. The KlinK & BanK invasion will be in the typical KlinK & BanK spirit: spontaneous and dynamic. KlinK and BanK will put up their headquarters at Berliner Liste in the former Vitra Design Museum.

Three artists are presenting their works and performances at Kunstsalon: Hekla Dögg Jonsdóttir will show her sound-light sculpture "Firework for L.A." and Egill Sæbjörnsson the video installation "The Box". Egill will perform as well in the young gallery of Isabella Bortolozzi. Magnús Árnason will put up his installation "Detritus" in the basement of the Kunstsalon and will perform there three times.

Gabriela Friðriksdóttir, the representative of Iceland in this year's Venice Biennial, will be presented at the artforum by her Berlin gallery, Spielhaus Morrison.Erla Haraldsóttir will open her studio at Kuenstlerhaus Bethanien to show new collages and animations of the workgroup cityscape.

When so many Icelanders showing up one can be sure that there will be a party with cult status. But when or where will be decided spontanously. But anyway - the days in Berlin are going to be extremely exciting.
